This Privacy Policy applies to the website www.diamondtiptattoo.com.au, related booking tools, Facebook/Instagram/Messenger communications, email, phone, in-studio forms, and any app or page operated by Diamond Tip Tattoo in Dapto, New South Wales, Australia.

We are a private, appointment-focused tattoo and body-piercing studio. For privacy requests, email hello@diamondtiptattoo.com with the subject line “Privacy request”.

Where the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) apply to us, we aim to handle personal information in a way that is consistent with those principles. Small-business exemptions may apply in some cases; we still aim to meet the standards below as good practice and for platform compliance (including Meta).

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

We use personal information to:

• Respond to consultation and booking requests
• Design, schedule and deliver tattoo or piercing services
• Send appointment reminders, deposits and aftercare information

• Defend legal claims and maintain studio records
• With your consent — market the studio using photos/videos of your tattoo or session
• Operate Facebook/Instagram Page messaging and related business tools

We rely on one or more of: your consent; steps needed to provide a service you requested; our legitimate interests in running a studio (balanced against your rights); and legal obligations.

We use Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger) to talk with clients and, where configured, to receive website form notifications and ads insights.

• Messages you send to our Facebook Page / Instagram account
• Your public profile name and Page-scoped ID when you message us
• Form summaries our systems deliver into Messenger for studio staff
• If Meta Pixel / Conversions tools are enabled: events such as page views, booking leads, or purchases (configured by us)

What we do not do

• We do not sell your Messenger content to data brokers
• We do not use Messenger content to train unrelated public AI products for sale
• We only message you on Messenger in line with Meta’s rules (e.g. after you message us, or within allowed windows/tags)

We do not sell personal information. Third parties are expected to handle data only for the services they provide to us.

Data may be stored on secure cloud systems. Some providers host data in Australia and/or overseas (for example the United States). Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (access controls, HTTPS, limited staff access). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Subject to applicable law, you may request to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent (e.g. marketing or media use) where processing is consent-based
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need (we may retain some records where legally required)
• Complain about our handling of your information

Tattoo services at our studio are for people 18 years or older with valid photo ID. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for tattoo bookings.

Piercing age rules and ID requirements are explained at booking and must be followed. Parents/guardians should contact us before submitting a minor’s details.

Tattooing and piercing can involve limited health-related information you choose to give us (e.g. allergies, skin conditions, medications, pregnancy). We use this only for safety and service quality.

Please do not send highly sensitive medical records through public Messenger threads if avoidable — ask us for a safer method if needed.

We may photograph or film healed work or sessions only with your permission (written media release or clear documented consent).

You can refuse marketing use and still receive tattoo services. Refusing does not affect consumer guarantees under the ACL for the service itself.

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), services generally come with consumer guarantees, including that services will be provided with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose made known, and be supplied within a reasonable time when no time is set.

Nothing in our policies is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights that cannot be excluded under the ACL. Where a failure is major, remedies under the ACL may include refund, further service, or other remedies as applicable.

Tattoo-specific notes (general information, not legal advice): tattoos are permanent body modification; outcomes depend on skin, aftercare, lifestyle and healing. We discuss risks and aftercare before work. Custom design work and time-based sessions are services — clear quotes and deposit terms will be confirmed before you pay a deposit.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the OAIC or, for consumer guarantee disputes, NSW Fair Trading / ACCC as appropriate.
